I searched through my collection of washers until I found one that fitted perfectly in the crankshaft nut cover with no free play. I then grip the washer opposite the slot with vice grips and turn it off.
However, it may not be that simple. Covers like this and bolts and screws somehow become almost welded into crankcases. I don't know how, but they do! You may have to damage the cover to remove it them buy a new one from Suzuki. I always replace my cover very gently with the minimum of torque.
